Before: VA08 had a high rejected rate and scrap due to bad weld plugs caused by the axial movement of the Balance Ring on the nest. Another Kaizen was implemented to improve the nest. There was not statistical study to see the gap in the old process. A 30-sample part study was conducted to analyze the data.
After: After the Implementation of the Nest Kaizen a new statistical study was performed to observe the new process behavior and show the gaps and improvements between both old and new nests. A t-sample test, ANOVA and Control Chart studies were performed to be able to get this information. This information was share with Whirlpool and they loved the use of these tools.
