| IMPROVEMENTS | Team members were required to stage 10+ lowers to allow for adequate part cooling/shrinkage. If assembled prior to sufficient cooling time, the suboptimal fit would cause excessive “Bad Weld” defects. Adjusted press 1301’s process to ensure lowers were optimal size when presented to the table for assembly, eliminating the need to stage parts for cooling. In addition, the process adjustment yielded a decreased press cycle time. |
