A designated and restricted resin grinding area was implemented to prevent contamination of ground resin, restrict access to untrained personnel, improve workplace safety, and maintain housekeeping standards.

Prior to this improvement, uncontrolled access to the grinding area increased the risk of resin contamination, required frequent cleaning activities, and exposed non-authorized personnel to potential accidents.

By defining a controlled grinding zone, the following measurable benefits were achieved:

Prevention of contamination-related scrap, avoiding approximately 180 lbs of resin waste per year, equivalent to $360 USD.

Elimination of routine cleaning activities, recovering approximately 62.5 labor hours per year, equivalent to $138 USD.

Prevention of at least one accident per year related to unauthorized access, avoiding an estimated $2,118 USD in labor incapacity costs.

The total estimated annual savings generated by this Kaizen initiative is approximately $2,616 USD per year, in addition to significant improvements in safety, material quality, and workplace organization.
