IMPROVEMENTS

Dedicated 440V electrical drops were installed near the grinding machines to eliminate the need for long temporary power cable runs to distant electrical connections.

Prior to this improvement, each grinder required additional cable length to reach available power sources, resulting in higher material costs, extended installation time, and increased electrical safety risks due to temporary connections.

By implementing localized 440V electrical drops, the following measurable benefits were achieved:

Elimination of approximately 150 meters of power cable purchases, generating an estimated annual savings of $2,206 USD.

Reduction of electrical installation labor, saving approximately 10 technician hours, equivalent to $294 USD.

Mitigation of electrical safety risks associated with temporary connections, avoiding an estimated $588 USD in potential incident-related costs.

The total estimated annual savings generated by this Kaizen initiative is approximately $3,088 USD per year, in addition to improved electrical safety, reduced installation time, and a more standardized power distribution system.
